Here is where you will find descriptions of our show’s segments and on-going giveaway information. Want to know more about the FBLC? Or the Top Ten at ten? You’ve come to the right place!
Frequent Business Listener Club
Also known as the FBLC. This is where the Point shamelessly gives shout outs to the local businesses who tune into the Point daily. Not only do they receive these free words of love, but they are also entered into the weekly bagel basket giveaway. Every Friday, Carole Ann will draw one business’ name from the melted record bowl, and that business has half an hour to call the station at 786-KWPT (5978) to claim the glorious bagels. The following Monday, we will deliver to the winning business the coveted bagel basket — Thanks to the fine folks at Los Bagels.
Just think how much your co-workers will love and respect you for feeding them in the morning!!
To be a part of the FBLC you must:
- Listen to the Point
- Call Us. We aren’t mind readers
- Listen to the Point
- Win and Rejoice!
Top 10 At 10
The Top Ten At Ten is a listener driven teacup ride. Every week Carole Ann chooses a topic and beats her listeners into submitting songs of that theme throughout the week. She makes all of her music savvy co-workers do the work for her, by making them vote on which songs make it to the Top Ten At Ten. Then on Friday morning at 10:00am, (like the title suggests) she spins your top ten requests fitting the weekly theme. The Top Ten at Ten is sponsored by Snip in Fortuna.

The Artist of the Day
Want to hear some deeper cuts from your favorite artists? Every weekday from 11:00 to 11:30 AM, tune in to The Artist of the Day for a daily showcase of the range and sometimes peculiar sides of the artists we all know and love. Weekdays at noon, we dedicate a half hour to one of our Point artists – finding live recordings and sometimes rare treats. Hear songs you’ve never heard, or songs that you haven’t heard on the radio for years – or ever! We are always open for artist suggestions from you (in fact, we prefer it) so give us a call or shoot us an email with an Artist of the Day suggestion – and feel free to offer up some track suggestions while you’re at it. Brought to you by Peterson Collision Repair, Judy Davis Insurance, and Moores Sleep World.
Flotsam and Jetsam
Webster’s Dictionary defines flotsam as “wreckage or cargo that remains afloat after a ship has sunk.” In the music world, hit songs would be considered flotsam; songs that stay afloat on the charts. Jetsam of course are the songs that never made it to the charts. Every weekday morning at 8:15 join Janet as we explore the hits and hte songs that never made it from some of our favorite artists on Flotsam and Jetsam. Brought to you by Don Brown State Farm Insurance, Sequoia Personnel and Horizon Business Products.
Live At Five
Every Weekday at 5pm, come alive with live at five with Chuck Rogers. All the great tracks you love, done live. Brought to you by Alternative Building Center, Strehls Family Shoes and Repair, Wes Green Landscape Materials, Kalos Hair Salon and Gallery and Fisch Drilling.
80s Night
Did you know that The Point has a time machine? That’s how we play all this great music! We usually go back as far as the 1960s, but on Thursday nights from 7:00 to 10:00, Eric is breaking the dial off at January 1st, 1980. He’ll be playing your requests and his selections of 80s music from every genre imaginable, including new wave, pop, and songs that ROCK. He’ll also be refreshing your memory on all of the great movies, TV shows, and silly commercials that made it such a fun decade. So, put on your parachute pants, and join us on Thursdays as we attempt to answer that age old question: Just where is that beef? Brought to you by Shaw Computer Services in Fortuna, Northtown Books and Taxdude.net.
